This week was a little bleak as far as good sales were concerned. But because I've been able to build up a decent food storage the past 2 months since we moved out to the Mid West I can get by with just getting a few ingredients here and there, and stockpiling certain items when they go on a good sale. This week there wasn't a lot of variety, but as you can see yogurt and cottage cheese were a great price (the best price for cottage cheese I've seen in a few months-we really like cottage cheese!). This weeks shopping trip I did two $25 transactions at Copps (they double 5 coupons when you spend $25 on Wednesdays so I split my grocery order into 2 to take advantage of that) and then filled in the other things I needed that weren't on sale at Walmart. I don't usually shop at Walmart except for when I need something that isn't on sale anywhere else that week (since Walmart doesn't have the best rock-bottom sale prices but they are usually the best price when you can't wait for something to go on sale).
Retail Price: $90.66
Retail Price: $90.66
What I paid: $43.67
Savings: 52%
Savings Breakdown:
Coupons tendered: $15.80
Double coupons tendered: $10
Copps Sale Price & Walmart Rollback Savings: $21.19
Also I should mention that what you see in this picture is not exactly what we will be eating this week (except perishables!). I try to stock up on items when they are on the best sale price and "shop from my pantry" rather than just shop at the store buying things at whatever price they happen to be each week. Hence for many of the meals I am making this week I will have bought various ingredients week or months in advance. So although looking at each weekly picture individually it may look like our family's diet is crazy and unblanced, what you don't see is my fully stocked pantry from which I actually cook from.

hahaha! I wish I had your pantry. Little grasshopper is trying so hard to (s)hop on her own. ;)
that is a lot of yogurt and pop tarts.
you could also say that it's a lot of tomatoes.
it is a lot of yogurt, but it doesn't expire for several weeks, and my DH goes through it quite fast.
and yes grasshopper adrianna, I will be teaching you a lot when I move back next month!
